Plantronics M100 Dual Mic Bluetooth Wireless Headset
Why We Love It:
Comfort
Slim and lightweight, the M100 is a great option for all-day headset users. The Plantronics M100 headset is about the size of your pinky finger. It’s tiny, light, and comfortable to wear. The M100 includes three earbuds in small, medium and large sizes and an optional plastic earhook for added stability. This creates multiple wearing options so users can adjust the device depending on personal preference.
Ease of Use
The M100 Bluetooth headset has three separate buttons for call control, volume adjustment and power. The call button is thin and nearly flush with the rest of the headset, but set off by a slightly raised blue border.
The volume/mute and power buttons are located on opposite edges of the headset. One complaint we had with the volume button was just that – it’s a button. This requires the user to cycle through volume levels rather than toggling between higher and lower volumes. There was no way to tell whether the volume was at the max until you went too far and had to push the button to go through all the volume levels again.
Pairing this device to a phone was easy. We just held down the call button until a small light on the back of the headset (near the speaker) flashed red and blue. The rest was done on the mobile device. An attractive feature of the Plantronics M100 is Multipoint technology, which allows you to pair the device to two phones simultaneously and answer the one that rings.
Sound Quality
The CAFL Web Team determined the M100 to anyone who primarily uses a headset in quieter environments like the car, office or home. The M100 is equipped with dual microphones, which help cancel out some background noise but not all. Callers reported sound quality to be above average when used in quiter environments and the headset user could clearly hear calls when walking on a busy street.
Overall
The Plantronics M100 is a simple, easy-to-use, comfortable Bluetooth device with up to six hours of talk time. It’s a solid option for anyone looking for a mid-range Bluetooth headset. The Plantronics M100 headset features very good sound quality for a mid-range headset in quiet environments – like the office or car – and a slim, lightweight design. An added bonus is having separate buttons for calls, power and volume.
