Leaked Photos Reveal New BlackBerry Phones

Leaked photos of BlackBerry’s new handsets are making the rounds on tech blogs this month as RIM prepares for a worldwide media event on January 30, when they are expected to announce the details of the new BlackBerry 10 operating system and the first phones to run BB10.

Reports indicate that RIM has at least two new smartphones in the pipeline – a full touchscreen handset and one sporting RIM’s signature QWERTY keyboard.

The touchscreen model, dubbed the “L-Series” or “Z10,” will be available in black or white. Photos indicate the smartphone will not have a home button, as the new BB10 OS is designed to allow users to switch between apps without having to return to a home screen. The Z10 appears to have a large 4.2-inch edge-to-edge touchscreen with a textured, removeable back cover for better grip.

The QWERTY handset is expected to be launched as the "X10." Leaked images suggest RIM has stuck to its traditional best-selling handset design with a full QWERTY keyboard positioned under a smaller touchscreen.
