Extend the Range of Your WiFi Networks
Posted on Feb 28th 2012
Wireless networks are everywhere. From Laptops, iPads and Smartphones to Game Consoles, Smart T.V.’s and BluRay Players, wireless networks have become an integral part of our daily lives. Whether it’s taking care of a mission critical project at work, emailing clients from your home office, or just relaxing at home with your favorite movie streaming to your smart TV, many of us have come to depend on the convenient streamlined solution that WiFi technology provides.
Although we might be ready to converge all our electronics into one WiFi network, not all products come equipped with that capability or can reach the distance necessary to do so. WiFi Extenders to the rescue!
Many challenges associated with access and range limitation can be solved with this incredibly versatile network component. Place an extender at the edge of your WiFi network and extend your wireless reach by up to 300 ft. Now you can start checking your email in your kitchen and finish streaming a video in your backyard. Need to provide wireless network access to a wired network device? Connect it to a WiFi Extender and now you can. Below are some common ways in which WiFi extenders are used.
WiFi Extenders Main Uses:
1. WiFi Range Extender: Extends the range of an existing Wi-Fi network or hotspot
2. Access Point / Wired to Wireless Network Converter: Provides wireless network connectivity to wired Ethernet devices
3. Wireless Bridge: Wirelessly connects 2 or more network segments
4. Additionally, WiFi extenders can be used to minimize mobile broadband data consumption. In areas where public Wi-Fi is available (and/or Mobile Broadband is not) simply connect the Range Extender to the Mobile Broadband Router (i.e. Cradlepoint Routers), and switch your internet source from Mobile Broadband to Public Wi-Fi without changing settings on multiple connected laptops, smartphones, etc.
Currently, we offer two WiFi Extenders models, the TRENDnet Wireless N and Buffalo AirStation N300. Please visit our WiFi Extenders page for more details.
