Connect to a Satellite with Your iPhone

With iPhone 14 or later, you can stay connected even when you're off the grid. If you're in an area without cellular or Wi-Fi coverage, you can use satellite connectivity to text emergency services, request roadside assistance, message friends and family, or share your location.

How It Works:

Connection Speed: In clear conditions, messages can take up to 30 seconds to send. Dense foliage or obstructions may slow or block the connection.
Setup: Ensure your iPhone is running the latest iOS version. Open the Connection Assistant to follow onscreen instructions for satellite features.

Satellite Features:

Emergency SOS via Satellite – Connects you to emergency responders.
Roadside Assistance via Satellite – Helps you request roadside help.
Messages via Satellite – Send text messages to loved ones.
Send Location via Satellite – Update your location in the Find My app.

Satellite features are available for free for two years with the activation of an iPhone 14 or later.

Privacy: Messages are encrypted, and your location is shared only with emergency services or the relevant service providers as needed. Apple does not access your location unless required for service routing.

Note: Satellite connectivity is not available in all regions.
